Serial ep 01; Adnan Syed, Guilty or Innocent?

Today I listened to my first podcast from start to finish and I have to say, it was better than i expected. My initial thoughts of podcasts was that they are boring, dull, and not worth listening to, but this series called "Serial" was a great way to introduce me into podcasts as it was very engaging and interesting. After hearing this I would listen to more podcast and I much rather prefer listening instead of reading off of text because with text it can be very monotone and not hear any emotion behind the words but with this podcast it sounds like a real life conversation per say. You can hear emotion and the different tones of voice which provide more meaning to me.

This first episode of this series was about Adnan Syed. Adnan has been locked up in jail for 15 years for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae. But the thing is, is that there was no clear evidence that he really did kill her. So Sara Koenig (the narrator of the story) goes out to interview people in order to really get to the bottom of this case and find out if Adnan really was the killer. But the problem was that remembering exactly what you did on a specific day was proven to be very difficult when Sara went to experiment on her nephew and some of his friends on what they did on a random day. So this showed that getting to the bottom of this case would be difficult. But I think if I was asked about a specific day I would be able to remember it well because I notice that I remember a lot of things that many don't.

While Sara interviews people she meets up with many people who went to school with Adnan to learn about Adnan as a person and where he was at the time. One person in particular who could have helped proven Adnan's innocence was a girl named Asia. Out of many people Asia was the only one who was able to remember what happened the day Hae got killed.Asia was able to remember seeing and talking to Adnan in the library across their school at the time of Hae's death. Although Asia is proof that Adnan is innocent her information was ruled out as evidence in Adnan's case in court which seemed very unfair to Adnan and his family. Speaking about Adnan's family they were the ones who reached out to Sara Koenig about Adnan's case which was very smart of them because of how popular the podcast has gotten which could get attention from lawyers or the court to reconsider Adnan's charges and free him.

After hearing this podcast I think Adnan is innocent, what do you think?
